Error Code 81000306? Help please!? Msn sign in!? please?

Hey, Since I've had my laptop, i have never been able to sign into Windows live ( or any oter msn ) though i am able to sign in on browser based messangers. I always get the code ' 8100036' and when i troubleshoot it always tells me its host files or my anti virus software is blocking it.

i have tried doing this -

3. Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:

regsvr32 softpub.dll

then click OK

and do the same for the following:

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 initpki.dll

regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

However the last code ( regsvr32 MSXML3.dll ) doesnt work.

I am on vista so is there another code that will work?

Also, I use McAfee antivirus software, how do i unblock or block programmes on it? ( and how do i block/unblock proggrams by using the normal windows firewall?)

you have to go to the options of your antivirus and look for exceptions and include MSN

Reinstall msn? or try using the MSN beta 9.0 ( the link for msn 9.0 beta is below)

Might want to consider going to Add/Remove and choosing the Repair option on Windows Live Messenger.

If it still is suffering from the same problem, tell me more about the problem along with what Firewall/Proxy applications you've got running to see what could be the problem...
