How do you get rid of a virus called winstall.exe when your antivirus antispyware software does not

then ur antivirus suck... I suggest u to get firefox and firewall for the internet, it's free... beat microsoft software that cost 80 buck for lousy operation... just throw it to trash, Winstall.exe isnt virus, it relate to ur window program, silly... nothing to worry abgout.

Do a system restore on your computer
I just had a bout with that winfix. Download "xoftspy" anti virus software and run the scans. Then contact their support. They will ask for scan logs and probably have you download some "mundo" zip files with other instructions like putting your computer in safe mode and some other stuff. It's kinda' tedious but not too difficult, I know you can do it!! Took me about a week to get done but it was really worth it.
I would try to boot up into safe-mode and see if you can delete the file that way.
