Personally I test a lot of software, but for years I've been using Diskeeper and have never had a problem. I use the "Set It - Forget It" feature. It runs in the background without using a lot of system resources.

no way it is not recomended but dont forma the hdd some time it may become very slow of the sytem.
Sometimes when you uninstall programs, it could lead to your computer becoming slower thereby you should defrag frequently. Occassionally, you will have remnants of program files/shortcuts or folders left in your registry that the uninstallation program failed to delete. Therefore, you can buy a program to clean your registry and fix the problems. I bought one from the internet and it makes the computer run as new. If not for this registry cleaner, I would as in the past do a fresh installation of windows every six months or run an image backup. With a registry cleaner, I haven't done one for yonks.
Frequent installations and uninstallations do not harm the hard drive or computer system physically, however, after frequent uninstalls and installs, you might be left with a very big registry, which can increase the bootup time for Windows.
